Hyderabad, July 28 -- Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao today directed seed companies to settle all pending dues-amounting to around Rs 700 crore-owed to cotton farmers of Jogulamba Gadwal district within a month.
The directive came during a high-level review meeting held at the Dr B R Ambedkar State Secretariat.
The minister expressed serious concern that despite cultivating cotton seeds across nearly 50,000 acres, farmers have not received payments from seed companies months after supply. The issue was flagged by MLA Krishna Mohan Reddy.
