Varanasi, Dec. 3 -- The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) campus witnessed heavy stone-pelting between students and security personnel late on Tuesday night.

Several flower pots, vehicles, and chairs were damaged in the vandalism. Upon receiving information, police from several police stations and the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control after considerable effort.

The incident began near the Rajaram hostel, where a vehicle allegedly hit a female student. Security personnel engaged in an argument with students who had come to complain.
