Chandigarh, Dec. 4 -- Nomination day for Punjab's Zila Parishad and Block Samiti elections on Thursday turned turbulent, with physical clashes, allegations of intimidation, barricade breaches and dramatic snatching of nomination papers reported from multiple districts.
In Gurdaspur, Congress and AAP workers came to blows outside the nomination centre. The confrontation escalated quickly with supporters from both sides exchanging blows and turbans being pulled off. Police had to intervene to control the situation in several places.
