Kabul, May 29 -- A clash between two families claimed four lives and injured another in the eastern Afghanistan Khost province, provincial police spokesman Tahir Ehrar said on Thursday.

The gruesome incident took place in Tanai district on Wednesday afternoon, during which three persons including a woman were killed from one side; while from the rival side, a man was killed and a woman sustained injury, the official added.

The bloody clash erupted over a child, the official said without providing more details.

Earlier on Sunday, a clash over land ownership between two families in Jaji Maidan district of the same province Khost left one person killed and injured seven others.
