Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 21 -- Congress Working Committee member Ramesh Chennithala has demanded the Special Investigation Team to clarify the evidence that formed the basis for the arrest of the Sabarimala Tantri (chief priest) in connection with the alleged gold-plating theft case.
He said that when a person holding a revered and highly responsible position, such as the Tantri of Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa Temple, is taken into custody, the investigating authorities have an obligation to convince the public about the reasons and material evidence that led to such action.
"Transparency in sensitive matters of this nature is essential to maintain public trust and confidence," he added.
