Itanagar, Aug. 10 -- Chief Justice of India (CJI) Justice B R Gavai on Sunday emphasised that the judiciary, executive, and legislature exist solely to deliver justice to the last citizen of the country, and that every effort must be made to ensure it is provided "at the earliest and at the least cost."

"Neither the judiciary, executive nor the legislature exists for lawyers, judges, or their own members. They all exist - whether judiciary, executive, or legislature/parliament - for giving justice to the last citizen of this country. I sincerely hope the last man in the country will get justice at the earliest and at the least cost," Justice Gavai said, calling for coordinated and calibrated efforts among the three pillars of democracy.
