Mumbai, April 21 -- The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) in the adjoining city has imposed a fine of Rs ten thousand on a Belapur-based restaurant for decorating trees with electric lights, officials said here on Monday.

According to details, Pawan Restaurant and Bar, located in Sector 3, was fined after a complaint was filed that the restaurant violates municipal environmental regulations.

The fine was imposed in accordance with Resolution No. 7461 dated January 27, passed by the NMMC Tree Authority, which prohibits harmful activities such as nailing advertisements onto trees or installing electric lighting.
