Kochi, Feb. 26 -- The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) has approached the Kerala High Court challenging the State government's decision to extend bar operating hours in the State.
In a petition filed before the court, the trade union sought to quash the government order allowing longer working hours for bars and liquor-serving establishments.
CITU contended that the decision was taken without consulting employees or labour organisations and alleged that it primarily benefits bar owners while placing an additional burden on workers.
