Ranchi, Dec. 16 -- The Jharkhand State Committee of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) has announced a protest against the four labour codes notified by the Central Government, and will hold a dharna and gherao at the Labour Bhavan in Ranchi on December 16.

CITU leaders stated that the labour codes, notified on November 21, undermine workers' rights to unionise, collective bargaining, minimum wages, social security and the right to strike. The organisation will demand that the Jharkhand government refrain from implementing the rules related to the labour codes in the state, citing labour as a concurrent subject.
