Ranchi, Dec. 5 -- The Crime Investigation Department (CID) has issued strict directives to all district administrations to launch crackdown on fake and banned medicines in Jharkhand.
The CID Inspector General has instructed all Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police to immediately constitute joint teams comprising Drug Inspectors and police personnel to launch a special enforcement drive across the state.
The action follows a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Sunil Kumar Mahato in the Jharkhand High Court, which sought an investigation into serious irregularities in the distribution of fake and controlled medicines.
