Hyderabad, Aug. 22 -- The Telangana CID on Friday arrested an anesthesiologist from Visakhapatnam in connection with the sensational inter-state human organ trafficking racket involving illegal kidney transplants in Hyderabad.

The case, first reported at Alakananda Multi-Speciality Hospital in Kothapet, Ranga Reddy district, was registered in April of this year based on a complaint from the Deputy District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO). Initially handled by Saroornagar police, it was later transferred to the CID for further investigation, a police statement said.
