Aizawl, Nov. 21 -- The Mizoram government has decided that the Presbyterian Church's Mizoram Synod will retain ownership of the plot on which its church building stands - land that was part of the Assam Rifles estate transferred to the state government last year - according to a statement issued by the state General Administration Department (GAD).

The statement explained that the Synod had earlier been told the government was awaiting the Gauhati High Court's verdict, as it was initially believed that the plot fell within the scope of PIL No. 31 of 2020 filed by the Central Young Mizo Association (YMA).
