Los Angeles, May 16 -- Director Christopher Nolan continues to break new grounds in filmmaking, as his upcoming movie 'The Odyssey' is the first cinema in history to be shot entirely on IMAX cameras.

An IMAX spokesperson confirmed with People on Thursday that Nolan's next movie, which stars Matt Damon as the ancient Greek mythological hero Odysseus, will be filmed entirely with IMAX cameras - the first feature-length movie ever to do so.

While Nolan has used IMAX before in films like 'Dunkirk', 'Tenet', particularly in his 2023 Academy Award winning biopic 'Oppenheimer', the loud and clunkily big nature of IMAX cameras has made it nearly impossible to make entire feature length films with them.
