Los Angeles, Sept. 21 -- Christopher Nolan, the visionary filmmaker renowned for "Oppenheimer", "Inception" and the "Dark Knight" trilogy, has been elected president of the Directors Guild of America (DGA), assuming stewardship of the union representing 19,500 directors, assistant directors, unit production managers and stage managers.

The election, held during the Guild's biennial national convention, saw Nolan run unopposed, succeeding outgoing president Lesli Linka Glatter, who steered the organisation through the tumultuous 2023 actors' and writers' strikes, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
