Beijing, Aug. 31 -- China supports Armenia's push to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Sunday.
Xi met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the Chinese port city of Tianjin earlier in the day.
"China supports Armenia's accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and is ready to work with Armenia to realize genuine multilateralism and jointly contribute to building a community of common destiny for mankind," Xi was quoted as saying by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
The two sides should strengthen connectivity and expand exchange in education, science and technology, culture, and tourism, Xi said.
