Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 23 -- Kerala is on the cusp of scripting history by becoming the first Indian state to eradicate extreme poverty, following in the footsteps of China's globally acclaimed achievement.
"Just as China declared itself free from extreme poverty, Kerala is set to achieve the same within India. This is a historic step towards building a 'Nava Keralam' (New Kerala)," said Local Self Government Minister M. B. Rajesh.
He announced that the formal declaration will be made on Kerala Piravi Day (November 1), marking a transformative milestone not only for the state but also for India's development journey.
