Kuala Lumpur, Jan. 10 -- World No. 1 Shi Yuqi of China beat Denmark's Anders Antonsen on Saturday to reach the men's final of the Malaysia Open.

Shi, the reigning world champion, won 21-13, 21-14 in the semifinal at the Axiata Arena.

"Shi was the better player today," said Antonsen. "I will do my absolute best to get back and try and beat him in the future."Shi said every encounter with Antonsen tends to be intense and gives him the opportunity to raise his level.

Shi will face Thailand's Kunlavut Vitidsarn in Sunday's final. Shi welcomed the opportunity and said every player is improving and gives their all on court, adding that the final will bring a fresh experience and a new challenge.
