Beijing, June 26 -- Beijing hopes that China and the United States will find the right way to coexist as two major powers, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said.

On Wednesday, Wang and Professor Graham Allison from Harvard University met in Beijing.

During the meeting, the Chinese foreign minister expressed hope that the US side would work with Beijing to address the fundamental issue of mutual recognition, paving the way for the two countries to establish a harmonious relationship based on the three principles of China-US relations.

The three principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping are the fundamental principles for China to deal with US affairs, Wang added.
