Beijing, March 11 -- China does not support attacks on Gulf states and will continue to play a constructive role in reducing tensions and restoring peace in the region, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Wednesday.

"China does not approve of attacks on Gulf states and condemns all indiscriminate strikes on civilians and non-military targets," Guo said during a briefing. He emphasized that the immediate priority is to halt hostilities and prevent the conflict from spreading further.

"China will continue to strengthen cooperation with all interested parties, including those directly involved in the conflict, and will play a constructive role in reducing tensions and restoring peace," he added.
