Thiruvananthapuram, Jan. 30 -- Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday said Kerala is drawing important lessons from China's globally recognised diaspora engagement model, stressing that structured and meaningful involvement of expatriates was a key factor behind China's rapid economic and technological growth.
Referring to China's internationally acclaimed "Chunhui" programme, the Chief Minister said similar ideas have emerged through the Loka Kerala Sabha and should be integrated into Kerala's development strategy.
"Chunhui" encouraged overseas Chinese professionals, researchers, and technologists to return, either temporarily or permanently, and contribute to knowledge-based industries.
