Xi'an (China), July 16 -- China and Japan remained unbeaten in the single round-robin preliminaries of the women's softball Asia Cup after recording fifth straight win here today.
China beat Singapore 7-0, and Japan saw off Chinese Taipei 4-1 and smashed Hong Kong, China 16-0 to share a 5-0 record.
Facing Singapore, Yan Siyu helped team China take a 1-0 lead through their rivals' errors in the first inning. Xie Jiaxin contributed a base hit to give Xi Kaixin the chance to score in the third inning.
In the fifth inning, Yan contributed a base hit which allowed her teammates to score three runs and seal their fifth victory at the tournament.
