Aizawl, April 27 -- Leaders of the Chin Refugee Community (CRC) based in Delhi have voiced regret over reports that some Chin refugees sheltering in Mizoram have been involved in drug trafficking, and vowed to strengthen efforts to ensure that refugees stay away from illegal activities.

The assurance came during a meeting between a 12-member delegation from the CRC and Mizoram's lone Lok Sabha MP Richard Vanlalhmangaiha at his residence in Delhi on Saturday.

During the interaction, Vanlalhmangaiha urged the refugee leaders to foster closer cooperation with both the Mizoram government and its citizens, emphasising that the Chin people are considered kin by the Mizo population.
