Mumbai, Nov. 14 -- On the occasion of Children's Day, education activist Nitin Dalvi has filed a public interest litigation (PIL) in Mumbai, challenging the Maharashtra government's delay in appointing members to the Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR).

In his petition, Dalvi argued that the government's inaction demonstrates a lack of urgency in safeguarding children's welfare. He highlighted that between 2020 and 2022, the commission had similarly remained non-functional for nearly two years, despite court directives.

The case is scheduled for hearing on December 3 in the Bombay High Court.
