Prayagraj, Sept. 5 -- In a major crackdown on child trafficking, a joint team of Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), and the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) conducted a surprise raid on the Seemanchal Express (Train No. 12487) at Prayagraj Junction on Friday. The train was en route from Jogbani to Anand Vihar Terminal.
During a thorough search of the general coach, 30 children were rescued from the train. Among them, 24 were minors while six were reported to be adults. Notably, none of the children were accompanied by any guardians or parents, raising serious concerns about their safety and intent of travel.
