Mumbai, Dec. 14 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was briefly booed by a section of the audience during an event organised for football legend Lionel Messi at the Wankhede Stadium here on Sunday.

The incident occurred when Fadnavis began his address by greeting the crowd with "Namaskar Mumbai," which was met with loud boos from parts of the stands. The Chief Minister paused his speech following the reaction.

He then chanted 'Ganpati Bappa,' prompting the audience to respond with chants in unison, after which the booing subsided and the atmosphere turned receptive.
