Kolkata, March 23 -- A couple of days after the formation of the tribunals, the Chief Electoral Officer of the state, Manoj Kumar Agarwal, has written to the Chief Secretary seeking urgent preparation of the infrastructure required for hearing of the cases in the tribunals.
Sources in the CEO's office said that Agarwal, in his letter, has mentioned the need for the arrangement of suitable buildings in Kolkata and the districts, along with essential facilities to operationalise the tribunals without delay.
Commission sources revealed that the communication specifically directs authorities to identify appropriate premises across districts, ensuring easy accessibility for the public.
