Ranchi, July 21 -- Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Jharkhand, K. Ravi Kumar, today directed all district-level electoral officers to ensure that no voter has to travel more than two kilometres to reach their designated polling booth, and that the number of voters per polling station does not exceed 1,200.
Chairing a video conference with Deputy District Election Officers from across the state, Kumar stressed the importance of geo-mapping and geo-fencing of polling stations to optimize accessibility and voter convenience.
He also instructed officials to avoid situations where voters from the same family or hamlet are allocated different polling stations.
