Raipur, Feb. 26 -- Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today paid tribute to Vinayak Damodar Savarkar on his death anniversary.

Offering floral respects at his portrait at the Chief Minister's residence office in Raipur, he described Savarkar as a towering figure whose life combined revolutionary zeal with intellectual depth.

The Chief Minister said Savarkar was not only a freedom fighter but also a nationalist thinker, social reformer, author, poet and historian who strengthened the ideological foundations of India's independence movement. His writings and speeches, Sai observed, instilled a spirit of patriotism and self-respect among generations of Indians.
