Raipur, Dec. 17 -- Chhattisgarh Finance Minister, O.P. Chaudhary, on Wednesday tabled the largest supplementary budget in the state's history, proposing an additional outlay of Rs 35,000 crore, with a sharp focus on reviving key institutions, accelerating infrastructure creation and ensuring balanced, inclusive development.

The Finance Minister said the supplementary budget was a corrective and forward-looking exercise aimed at addressing pending liabilities exceeding Rs 45,000 crore inherited by boards and corporations. "Institutions such as MARKFED and NAAN are the backbone of paddy procurement and the public distribution system. Reviving them is essential for farmer welfare and food security," he said.
