Raipur, Jan. 2 -- Chhattisgarh High Court on Friday granted bail to Chaitanya Baghel, son of former chief minister and senior Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel, in a high-profile liquor scam case.
The relief has been granted in the cases being probed by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The single bench of Justice Arvind Verma allowed the bail plea after hearing detailed submissions from the prosecution and the defence side. The court directed that Chaitanya Baghel be released subject to statutory conditions. He is expected to walk out of jail after spending more than five months in judicial custody.
