Raipur, July 15 -- The Chhattisgarh government today deported 30 Bangladeshi nationals who had been residing unlawfully in various districts of the state.

The coordinated operation began at Raipur Airport, from where the deportees were flown to Guwahati. From there, they were handed over to the Border Security Force (BSF) for repatriation to Bangladesh via the international border.

This marks the first official large-scale deportation of foreign nationals from Chhattisgarh. Those deported were found living without valid documents in Raipur, Durg, Rajnandgaon, and Raigarh districts, following intelligence inputs and public complaints. Most had reportedly entered the country illegally and stayed under the radar for years.
