Sukma, May 13 -- Two teenagers were killed and five others were seriously injured after lightning struck a forested area in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. The incident occurred on Monday evening when around 100 villagers from Pandarupara, Renganpara, Lekhanpara and Patelpara went to the forest in Sirsattee village under Kerlapal police station for a traditional hunt after celebrating a local festival. As the weather suddenly changed, strong winds and light rain started, and some villagers took shelter under a tree.
