Sukma, May 23 -- A Maoist was killed in an ongoing encounter between security forces and Maoists in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Friday, police said.
Police said that a team of District Reserve Police Force, Arms Act Force, and Cobra Battalion personnel launched an anti-Maoist operation in the Kistaram area on Thursday.
Intermittent firing has been taking place between the security forces and Maoists since last night, resulting in the death of one Maoist, they added.
