Raipur, May 7 -- The Chhattisgarh government has reiterated its 'zero tolerance' policy against corruption during the third phase of 'Sushasan Tihar'.

Following confirmation of three contractual employees demanding and extorting bribes from beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Bemetara district, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai directed swift and stringent action.

The incident came to light through a viral audio clip, where Nira Sahu, an Awas Mitra, was heard demanding a bribe of Rs 25,000 in exchange for releasing installments under the scheme. A subsequent investigation by the Tehsildar confirmed Nira Sahu's voice in the audio clip.
