Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), July 21 -- Marijuana worth Rs 9 lakh has been seized and four smugglers placed under arrest in Balrampur district, police said today.
The action took place last night following a tip-off. The accused placed the substance in 12 large bags and were conveying the same by bus to Uttar Pradesh. A cordon was set up at Wadrafnagar and a search of the vehicle yielded 92 kg of ganja. The smugglers were being interrogated. Preliminary investigation revealed the involvement of an inter-state gang. A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
