Raipur, July 18 -- A local special court today remanded Chhattisgarh's erstwhile chief minister Bhupesh Baghel's son Chaitanya to five days in Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody in connection with an alleged liquor scam.
The ED had sought seven days' custody.
This morning an ED team raided Baghel's Bhilai residence. After taking Chaitanya into custody, the ED officials had a hard time exiting the place. A crowd of Congress workers and supporters vociferously sloganeered against the ED. Security has been beefed up outside the ED office.
In the Assembly, where the Monsoon Session is underway, Congress legislators generated pandemonium over the raid and Chaitanya's arrest on his birthday and staged a walkout, boycotting the entire day'...
