Mumbai, Nov. 19 -- The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport will remain closed tomorrow from 11 am to 5 pm. The airport authorities have said the temporary closure was needed for runway repair and maintenance post monsoon.

The airport's official X handle said that during the six-hour window, no flight arrivals or departures will take place.

Every year, the runways suffer some damage during the monsoon. Tomorrow's work is specifically reserved for this purpose.

The airport is one of the busiest in the country, handling lakhs of passengers daily. On average, a flight takes off or lands every four minutes.
