Kolhapur, April 12 -- Union Home minister Amit Shah on Saturday said Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was a source of inspiration not only for the state or country but also for the world.

Shah, who arrived from Pune by helicopter, accompanied with state chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and his two deputies - Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawa - earlier paid tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's statue at historic Raigad fort on his 345th death anniversary and on the occassion of centenary celebrations of the renovation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's mausoleum on Raigad fort.

He said there was need to spread the thoughts of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the country.
