Jaipur, May 13 -- Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj's birth anniversary was celebrated with great fervour at Raj Bhavan in Rajasthan on Tuesday.

Governor Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde warmly welcomed the horse-mounted statue of Sambhaji and the accompanying procession, which arrived from Nashik.

The procession, part of the birth anniversary celebrations in Delhi, reached Raj Bhavan on Tuesday. Bagde greeted the procession and paid floral tributes to the statue. He performed rituals and puja at the statue, describing Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj as a champion of faith.
