Solan, April 4 -- The Congress government's decision to re-examine permissions granted to the controversial Chester Hills housing project in Solan has come in the wake of a sequence of official communications that reveal how approvals were processed and later reconsidered.
The CPI(M) has now demanded that all officials responsible for "overlooking violations" be brought to book and Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta step down on moral grounds.
The first set of orders issued by the Urban Development Department on December 31, 2025, directed the Municipal Corporation, Solan, to implement recommendations of a Technical Committee regarding M/s NG Estate and associated promoters of Chester Hills-2 and 4.
