Shimla, April 5 -- Chester Hill row had sparked political slugfest in Himachal Pradesh, as former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur slammed the state government led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu over the controversial Chester Hill matter, alleging attempts to shield corruption and suppress facts instead of ensuring a fair probe.

In a statement issued to the media from Mandi on Sunday, Thakur said that as alleged instances of corruption were gradually coming to light, unease had spread within the ruling Indian National Congress and the state administration.
