Kolkata, Dec. 21 -- Uganda's two-time Olympic champion Joshua Cheptegei underlined his stature as one of the greatest distance runners of his generation by clinching the men's elite title at the Tata Steel World 25K Kolkata 2025 on Sunday.
Indian runner Gulveer Singh and Seema claimed the Indian men's and women's titles respectively, both setting new national records.
Cheptegei, who still holds the world records in the 5000 m and 10,000 m, stormed to victory in a world-class men's elite field, clocking 1:11:49 in his debut over the 25-kilometre distance.
