Chennai, Sept. 22 -- In a first for India, Chief Minister M K Stalin today launched the 'Chennai One' mobile application, an integrated ticketing system for all modes of public transport.
The app provides a single QR code for buses, Metro Rail, suburban trains, and autos. The Chennai Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority (CUMTA) described the all-in-one platform as a "game changer" for commuters.
"This will make commuting easier," Stalin posted on 'X', adding that positive public feedback would be used to help "Chennai shine as the best in the world in #PublicTransportSystem."The app, available on iOS and Android, was launched after a successful trial period that began in June.
