Chennai, Sept. 14 -- The Officials of the Customs Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) ha e bused a new modus operandiin Ganja smuggling at the Anna International airport here, seized 2,956 kg contraband and arrested two passengers.

A PIB release today said based on specific intelligence, the AIU officials intercepted an Indian male passengerwho arrived from Thailand via Colombo by a Sri Lankan Airlines flight.

The passenger was in possession of a cabin trolley bag and also had checked-in a purple trolley suitcase inThailand.

However, the officers discovered that the suitcase checked in by the said passenger was being discreetlyretrieved at the terminal by another Indian male passenger who arrived from Colombo in the same flight.
