Srinagar, March 6 -- A 'Zero FIR' was registered against the accused in Awantipora police station of Jammu and Kashmir in a cheating case on Thursday.

Police Station Awantipora received a written complaint from Showkat Ahmad stating therein that he was fraudulently cheated by two persons related to duping by Rs 50 lakh.

Police said, accordingly, preliminary verification (PV) was initiated and it was substantiated that the allegations levelled by the applicant were based on facts.

Police said the cognizance was taken by registering 'Zero FIR' under section 318(4) and in view of the accused hailing from the jurisdiction of Police Station Lasjan Srinagar, the FIR has been forwarded to the concerned Police Station for further necessary actio...
