Chatra, Aug. 10 -- Police have arrested two persons for the alleged murder of an elderly witch doctor in Barwa Kochwa village under Pratappur police station in Jharkhand's Chatra district, officials said today.
The incident occurred on the night of July 18-19, when the victim, sleeping in the courtyard of his house, was allegedly killed by slitting his throat. Police said the crime was committed due to superstitious beliefs.
The accused were identified as Pankaj Kumar and Bhola Bharti, both residents of Barwa Kochwa. Items seized include the knife used in the murder, blood-stained clothes, and a motorcycle allegedly used in the escape.
