Utah, Sept. 13 -- The suspect in the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk is being held at a county jail in Spanish Fork, Utah, on multiple initial charges, an officer of the Utah County Jail told CNN.
Suspect Tyler Robinson has not been charged formally yet, and initial charging documents aren't available at this time, authorities in Utah say.
The charges that allow Robinson to be held include aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm and obstruction of justice, the officer said.
The suspect was detained by authorities after his father recognized the young man as his son when police released photos yesterday and ultimately contacted authorities, a law enforcement official told CNN.
