Chandigarh, Nov. 16 -- The Chandigarh Police Complaints Authority has initiated a formal inquiry into allegations that 13 IPS officers from Punjab and Chandigarh may have had links to an extensive online betting network operating across the region. The case has gained momentum after several officers' names surfaced during ongoing investigations into the illegal syndicate.
The probe has been ordered by PCA Chairperson Justice (Retd.) Kuldeep Singh and Member Amarjot Singh Gill, who reviewed a complaint highlighting possible protection extended to the betting operators. The matter will be taken up again on December 2, when the Authority is expected to assess initial findings.
