Chandigarh, March 4 -- MP from Chandigarh Manish Tewari on Tuesday met Union Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu and demanded recognition of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh International Airport as a 'Point of Call' (PoC) for international airlines.

Tewari said, "The Chandigarh International Airport located in Mohali, which is now called Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh International Airport, serves the states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. A large number of people from these three states travel internationally for business as well as tourism purposes."

He said "unfortunately Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh International Airport is not recognised as a 'Point of Call' (POC) for international airlines and hence it is not in the 'Bilatera...
