Chandauli, Oct. 31 -- The horrific case of rape and murder of a minor girl in Chandauli district has sparked a political storm.
Congress state president Ajay Rai visited the victim's village, met the grieving family, and assured them of financial assistance and full support from the Congress party today.
Expressing deep sorrow and anger over the brutal incident, Rai said it was not only a shameful episode for Chandauli but for the entire society. Condemning the crime, he called it "a blot on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government."He accused the Yogi Adityanath government of failing to protect women and children despite its claims of "zero tolerance" toward crime.
